Professional audio is also one of many audio categories. The difference from most audio is that the use scenarios are different. The professional audio system assembly, design, equipment connection and debugging require professional sound technicians to complete. Professional audio has a characteristic that, compared with hifi audio, the sound quality requirements are relatively low. However, professional audio has relatively high requirements for volume, and at the same time pursues a high degree of restoration of the human voice effect.
Professional audio is usually used in business KTV, bars, private clubs, stage performances, opera houses, stage sound reinforcement, corporate conference systems and other places. So today, the editor and everyone will talk about the classification, application places and characteristics of professional audio.
Professional audio can be mainly divided into card package speakers, professional full-range speakers, professional coaxial speakers, and linear array speakers.
1: Card package speakers
First of all, let’s talk about card package speakers. As the name suggests, card package speakers are karaoke room speakers. They are used in small-space business KTV places. They can usually be divided into two types: five-unit three-way and three-unit two-way speakers. The bass speaker usually uses foam edges, and the dive is relatively deep. The mid- and low-frequency sounds are processed, and the human voice is more delicate, which is more suitable for daily singing. However, the biggest disadvantage is that the rated power is relatively small. Therefore, we usually see card package speakers in many limited edition KTVs. If it is a large private room, two pairs of card package speakers are usually needed, and some KTVs with large spaces will even choose professional audio.
2. Professional full-range speakers:
Professional full-range speakers are different from card-pack speakers in that the former is a horizontal design, while the professional full-range speakers are a vertical design. Professional full-range speakers mainly adopt a 2-unit design, which is generally composed of a horn tweeter and a woofer. It has strong directivity, high power handling, and high sound pressure level. Card-pack speakers generally have no requirements for installation, but professional audio systems need to consider their horizontal and vertical directivity.
In terms of materials, the tweeter of professional speakers usually uses aluminum film, and the mid-high frequency is brighter, has strong penetration, and is easier to sing. The stability of the sound quality is better than the former. Usually, the power of professional speakers is relatively large, between 400W-1000W, and the sound pressure level can reach 130DB. The scope of use is relatively wide, focusing on sensitivity and power. It can be used indoors and outdoors, and is suitable for relatively large spaces, or some application scenarios such as outdoor stages.
3: Professional coaxial speakers
Professional coaxial speakers can be said to be unique in the field of home karaoke. The difference from professional full-range speakers is that its treble and bass are both sounded on the same axis.
Sounding on the same axis, no matter how our listening position changes, the treble and bass can arrive at the same time. It can solve the problem of the distance difference between your treble and bass, with minimal phase distortion, and a relatively simple frequency division method will make the sound more delicate, the details richer, the human voice softer, and the distortion will be lower, which is very suitable for home use. There are only a handful of brands that are capable of coaxial audio technology in the professional field, so the price is relatively expensive.
4: Linear array speakers
The full name of the linear array speaker is actually a group of closely spaced radiation units arranged in a straight line with the same amplitude and phase. The number can be increased or decreased according to the size of the occasion, and the angle can be flexibly adjusted. Through the linear transmission method, the transmission distance is increased and the attenuation of long-distance sound transmission is reduced. The linear array speaker has a wider sound coverage and stronger power. The linear speaker is more high-end than the traditional speaker and has a wider range of applications, such as large theaters, gymnasiums, or outdoor stage performances. But one thing that needs to be noted is that the line array speaker is not suitable for home use.
