Voice coil
The voice coil can be said to be the heart of the speaker and one of the important components of the speaker. After the voice coil conducts electricity, it will move within the magnetic field due to Fleming’s left-hand rule, driving the vibrating plate.
Spider
The spider is a damper and a centering support piece, which has braking and center maintaining functions. The outer edge of the spider is glued to the bracket, and the neck of the spider is glued to the voice coil bobbin and the neck of the drum paper. This prevents the voice coil from being magnetized to the iron sheet or magnet when it moves within the magnetic gap. The voice coil and drum paper are correctly connected to maintain the center, so it is also called a center holder.
Paper cone
The sound film is also called paper cone, cone, drum paper, and diaphragm. It is one of the main parts of the speaker. Paper cone has a decisive influence on the performance and sound quality of SPK. In extreme terms, you cannot make a good speaker without good drum paper, which shows its importance.
The materials of sound membranes can be roughly divided into three types: paper (pulp, fiber), resin (polyester series, phenol resin series), and metal plate. Nowadays, most diaphragms for speakers are made of paper, but for angular speakers, metal plates or resin-based products are often used as diaphragms to meet actual needs.
Dust cap
The dust cover is also called a hat. It is mainly used to prevent dust and other debris from entering the magnetic gap from the front of the vibrating plate and causing abnormal sound. It also has the function of reinforcing the treble. Most of its materials are paper, cloth, non-woven fabric, Mylar, PEI and metal film.
The colors of the dust cover are also various, and the design needs to be selected according to the customer’s requirements or appearance matching.
Plastic film or metal film dust cover, because the material itself has a certain elasticity, its thickness has an impact on the sound. Generally, for speakers with high power and strong vibration, the thickness of the dust cover should be correspondingly thicker to prevent resonance. At the same time, The temperature resistance should be high.
